Parad means semen of Lord Shankar. So powerful is the impact of Parad Shivling that the person who keeps this shivling at his place and accords respect and worships it attains the complete satisfaction in terms of fame, wealth and success. As per the scriptures, Ravana has pleased Lord Shiva by performing pooja of Parad Shivling. That made him successful in covering his city with gold.
