How to make :

Ribbon Pens :

Materials :

  • Regular pen with no handle or fancy bits to it.
  • Ribbon (about 2 feet. The wider the ribbon, the less you'll need).
  • Feathers (about 5 or 6).
  • Hot glue.
  • Scissors.
  • A friend.

Directions :

  • This project is best done with a friend.
  • Put a dab of hot glue at the end of the pen and attach your ribbon at an angle.
  • Wrap the ribbon around the pen once.
  • Put another dab of hot glue on the pen and wrap again.
  • Continue dabbing and wrapping until the pen is covered in ribbon.
  • Snip off the ribbon.
  • Put a bit of extra glue to secure the ribbon really well.
  • Put a dab of glue at the end of the pen and attach a feather.
  • Flip the pen over and attach another feather.
  • Continue to rotate the pen and glue feathers on until the end is covered on fluffy.

Tile Collage :

Materials :

  • A tile.
  • Newspapers and/or magazines.
  • Paintbrush.
  • Glue.

Directions :

  • Cut pictures out of the magazine that you like and letters too if you want to write something. Try to have different sizes, fonts, etc.
  • You glue the pictures onto the tile.
  • When that is dry, paint a layer or two of glue on it to keep it from coming off.

Flower Pot :

Materials :

  • Small pot.
  • Potting soil.
  • Glue (hot glue works best but only if there is an adult to do it).
  • Muffin cups.
  • Small craft ball.
  • Green straw.
  • Foam (in green color).
  • Scissors.

Directions :

  • Place potting soil in a small pot.
  • Paint the name of the person we were giving the pot to, on the outside.
  • Glue one muffin cup into another.
  • Place a small pom-pom in the center.
  • Glued the muffin cups to a colored straw.
  • 'Plant' the flowers in the terra cotta pots (push the straw into the soil).
