Description

Completed DELTA (Mod-1) from University of Cambridge and completed PRESETT (a CELTA equivalent) from British Council.
An ESOL teacher in British Council, Kolkata, since Nov. 2009. Specialized in teaching English Language to students of all age groups and of different nationalities.

KEY AREAS:

• Teaching - Six years of teaching experience to adult and young learners, of different age groups, of multiple levels and across different nationalities.

My teaching experience includes:

1. IELTS course- sharpening the Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening skills for the IELTS examination.

2. Business English to the corporate / executives (presentation skills, e-mail writing, negotiation skills and other such skills required at the work place).

3. Communicative English (Interview skills, Group Discussion skills, Extempore skills, Public Speaking, Pronunciation, Intonation).

4. General English (Speaking, Reading, Writing, Listening, Grammar, Vocabulary).

• Course and material development- I have developed and tailor-made courses at the British Council and guided and trained teachers to deliver them. E.g. I have designed IELTS course and Communicative English courses at British Council.
I have designed courses for young learners (13-15 years) which have been used across the different centres in India.

I have further adapted and created materials beyond the book to contextualize the lessons that could suit the best interests of the students.

I have attended IELTS orientation training, 'Learner Centred Methodology' workshop delivered by Bryan Arthur Beaton and several extensive trainings under British Council which focus on classroom management, managing customer expectations, error correction, lesson shapes, staging and structuring lessons, using authentic materials in classroom, etc.
