FICS","DetailedDescription":"Dr Virendra Rajpurohit is a practicing Cancer Surgeon trained at the esteemed Asian Institute of Oncology under the stalwarts of surgical oncology. He has experience of 9 years of practicing surgical oncology and its subspecialties. He has acquired special training and expertise in Thoracic Oncology. He is the recipient of the prestigious Varoon Mahajan Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York in 2007 where he worked on a review of multimodality treatment of Esophageal and Lung Cancers. He has also been awarded a fellowship by the Department of Esophageal Diseases at Kurume University Hospital, Japan where he worked with some of the leading esophageal surgeons in the world, including Prof H Fujita. He learnt the finer nuances of thoracoscopic esophagectomy from the pioneer himself, Prof H Osugi in Osaka, Japan. His areas of interest are multidisciplinary. He has performed innumerable number of Thoracic and Mediastinal surgeries, Complex Gastrointestinal cancer surgeries, Head and Neck cancer surgeries and reconstructions, Gynaecological cancer surgeries, Urological cancer surgeries, Breast cancer surgery with special interest in Breast conservation therapy & Sentinel nodal mapping and Endocrine cancer surgeries. He and his team have performed more than 50 Intra Operative Radiation Therapy (IORT) procedures for early breast cancer at the first and only center in India in Mumbai. He is also involved in Cancer screening, Counseling and Palliative care. He is also a permanent Faculty at the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education.

His extensive exposure to the latest technology and medical practices in renowned centers has fine-tuned his clinical judgment.

He is associated with various national and international cancer societies and has delivered lectures and presented papers/ videos at National and International platforms.

He is honest, hard working, innovative and passionate surgeon who likes to take up challenges and believes in thinking out of the box.
