Create a Gift Basket for Hanukaah for Adults :

Gift baskets are a great gift for any occasion. A themed gift basket is fun because it challenges you to creatively pick items associated with the subject you have chosen. A Hanukkah gift basket can contain many different items depending on who the recipient is. A children's Hanukkah gift basket may include toys, for example. You can create many beautiful Hanukkah gift baskets for an adult as well.

All you need is...

  • Scissors
  • Cellophane wrap
  • Basket
  • Ribbon
  • Budget for the filled basket
  • Items to fill basket
  • Gift tag

Set a budget for the gift basket you are going to create. It is easy to get carried away and spend more money than you have planned. Setting a budget before you shop helps stop the urge to spend more. Choose a centerpiece item for the basket. This is usually a large, more expensive item that will be the main gift within the basket or the main theme to work from. For a Hanukkah basket, you could choose a menorah.

Add accessories that are Hanukkah related and relate to your centerpiece item. Menorah candles would fit nicely into a basket containing a menorah. Create a color scheme if possible as you continue to purchase contents for the gift basket. Blue and white are traditional colors associated with Hanukkah, but other colors work well too.

Give an edible gift as part of your Hanukkah basket for an unexpected treat. Add chocolate gelt, gourmet cookies or candies. Buy a basket after you have purchased the items to go into the basket so you know what size you need. Craft stores have large selections of baskets of all shapes, sizes and materials. Place the items you have chosen into the basket. Arrange so you can see a little bit of each item.

Use cellophane wrap to hold the basket together. You can use either large sheets of wrap, or cellophane bags that are big enough to hold the entire basket. These products are available in multiple colors, prints or clear. Tie the top of the wrap with ribbon. Make sure it is securely tied. Add a gift tag with the recipient's name on it.

Hanukkah Gift Basket for Kids :

Select art supplies with a Hanukkah theme. You can buy Hanukkah pencils, markers and crayons at most party supply stores. Choose toys to fill the basket. You can buy traditional dreidels as well as wind-up walking dreidels, yo-yos and other classic children's toys.

Add a Hanukkah-themed snack to the gift basket. Grocery and drug stores carry chocolate coins called gelt and dreidel-shaped cookies. Pick out Hanukkah stickers as part of a child's Hanukkah gift basket. Most kids like brightly colored stickers.
